Here’s some useful information about books that all the avid readers out there might appreciate:
Paperbooks
We’ve probably all bought books from Amazon.com, but there are lots of other places on the web where you can get cheap books*.
Don’t forget about our local used bookstore, Douglasville Books, located at 7191 Douglas Blvd, Douglasville, GA (770.949.4363). If they’ve got the book, you probably won’t find it anywhere cheaper.
*Thanks to Sandra for providing links to these great online sources for new and used books.
Electronic Books
If you’re like me and want to reduce the number of books you have filling up your bookcases, you might be interested in purchasing electronic versions of books to read on your electronic reader:
Not all books are available electronically, but more and more of them are becoming available every day.
Library Books
If you’ve got a PINES library card (and everyone who reads in Douglas County should – they are free to Georgia residents), you can check with the Douglasville, Dog River or Lithia Springs branch of the West Georgia Regional Library System to see if they have the book. If they don’t, you can ask them to borrow the book from an affiliated PINES library. You can find the branches where the book is located through the Georgia Library Pines Public Information Network for Electronic Services.
The West Georgia Regional Library System also lends electronic books to library patrons via its 3M Cloud Lilbrary. I haven’t signed up for this service because I can’t use my my Kindle Paperwhite or my Nook Glowlight. You can read an overview of the 3M Cloud Library and learn how it works by clicking this link.
